This bracelet is composed of tiny handmade silver beads, beaded on 16 strands. It is knot-tied in the middle and closes with a simple handmade silver hook. There is also a 4cm extension chain that allows for the size adjustment.
The beaded strands are a tribute to a typical Thai Karen traditional beading techniques widely used in their national costumes. We made a series of items in the same series (earrings, wraparound bracelet and necklace).
All our silver jewelry is made in 95-98 % silver by the Karen hill-tribe silversmiths.
The Karen are a group of ethnic peoples who reside primarily in southern and southeastern Burma and in northern and north-eastern Thailand. Thai and Burmese hill tribes can be traced back to the 12th century when they are said to have originated from Tibet.
With a higher silver content than sterling silver, Karen silver has a weight, bright satin color and feel, all of its own. Every piece is handmade and individual.
It comes with a traditional Thai package that can be a lovely gift or just simply jewelry storage. We send all our packages with tracking number for safer shipping.
